House Deputy Speaker and Basilan Rep. Mujiv Hataman said the victory of Vice President Leni Robredo in the Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET) is also a vindication against the alleged election fraud in the now defunct Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).
“Maganda po na tinuldukan na ng Supreme Court ang bintang na nagkaroon ng iregularidad sa resulta ng eleksyon sa Mindanao,” said Hataman, who was the ARMM governor during the 2016 elections.
The camp of Sen. Bongbong Marcos wanted to invalidate the votes from Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao and Basilan claiming that there were irregularities in these areas during the 2016 elections.
Robredo won in these provinces and invalidating the votes may affect her victory.
“It was a large cloud of doubt that hung over the results of the last elections.
Hataman said the victory of Robredo is also the victory of the people who went out to vote.
“It was indeed a long, difficult and arduous legal battle for an election already won.
