Senator Leila De Lima may have dementia, Palace Spokesman Harry Roque said responding to her tweet that despite billions of financial loans for coronavirus vaccines, the Philippines still faces a scarcity of doses.
De Lima’s tweet came after President Rodrigo Duterte in a speech delivered in Tacloban City called her the “only bitch” who made the world believe she’s a prisoner of conscience.
“Siguro po dementia na po yan dahil sa kanyang pagkakulong. Yung inutang po natin para sa bakuna, hindi po natin nakukuhang cash yun,” Roque said in a televised briefing Friday.
“Yung mga inutang po natin sa multilateral lending agencies, diretso pong pupunta yun sa mga manufacturers. Kaya po hindi pa napupunta sa mga manufacturers eh wala pa po silang suplay na nade-deliver dito,” he also said.
In a March 18 tweet, de Lima also criticized Duterte for having time to call her a bitch while many people succumb to Covid-19 and are killed in his campaign against illegal drugs.
“Incompetent people will always call you names. Panlihis na naman ni Duterte sa mga kapalpakan nya,” the lawmaker wrote.
