Senator Sonny Angara is urging people to stay at home and help stop the coronavirus spread in the country.
Angara made the appeal after the country registered a record jump in coronavirus cases in recent days. The Philippines’ cases of infections have so far reached more than 600,000 with over 12,000 deaths.
“Stay home if you can guys,” Angara said in a Facebook post.
Angara, who survived the coronavirus illness last year, discouraged people from going outside for the meantime. He warned against the detection of new and more infectious variants of the coronavirus.
“If you don’t really NEED to physically be somewhere- best to just stay home. A lot of unknowns now especially with new variants of COVID-19,” he said.
