In a speech at the joint meeting of the National Task Force and Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict in Eastern Visayas, President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday raised the possibility of having cancer.
Duterte issued the remark after he coughed in the middle of his address.
“Pasensya na kayo. I don’t know, but ‘yong pagka-ubo, progressive. Baka cancer na ang p***** i**,” the Chief Executive said, eliciting laughter from the crowd.
“Gigaba. Nakarma na doon sa gi-krrkk,” he added.
In August 2020, the 75-year-old Duterte said his Barrett’s esophagus condition was nearing stage one cancer.
His doctor, according to him, advised him to refrain from drinking so as not to worsen his ailment.
