President Rodrigo Duterte urged the Filipino people to give the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) a “chance” to improve the lives of Filipinos by making transactions with the government more efficient.
In a video message during the PhilSys ceremonial event Friday, Duterte assured the public that PhilSys will not only deploy a resilient digital system but also uphold the privacy of all personal information.
“As we pursue this long overdue project, I ask every Filipino to give Philysys a chance so that we may maximize the advantages of a universal and secure database that will make transactions more efficient and our lives more convenient,” the Chief Executive said.
“Let me assure everyone as well as apart from its primary purpose of providing a resilient digital identification system for all Filipinos, PhilSys will also uphold the privacy of all personal information,” he added.
Duterte likewise reminded everyone to continue to observe safety and health protocols during the entire registration process.
