Former President Joseph Estrada is now confined at a hospital battling the coronavirus disease.
Estrada tested positive for the coronavirus, according to his sons former Senators Jinggoy Estrada and JV Ejercito.
The 83-year-old former leader was rushed to the hospital Sunday night after experiencing weakness, Jinggoy said in a Facebook post. His COVID-19 test results came back positive.
“Nais ko pong ipaalam sa inyo na ang aking ama , na si dating pangulong Joseph Estrada, ay isinugod namin sa ospital kagabi sa kadahilanan ng panghihina ng kanyang katawan. Na-diagnose na po siya na positibo sa covid 19,” the former senator wrote on Facebook.
Jinggoy asked for prayers for his father’s recovery. He added his father’s condition has become stable.
“Stable po ang kanyang kundisyon at ako po ay humihingi ng inyong mga panalangin sa kanyang agarang paggaling. 🙏🙏🙏,” he said.
JV, another son of Estrada, also updated the public about his father’s health condition via Facebook. He likewise appealed to the public to pray for his dad.
“Please pray for my father who has tested positive for COVID-19 and was rushed to the hospital,” he said in a Facebook post.
“Please pray for all those who are likewise fighting this virus. 🙏🏽,” he said.
