There will be “house-to-house” search for people with symptoms of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) during the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) period, Malacañang said.
The government placed Metro Manila and the provinces of Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna and Rizal under ECQ from March 29 to April 4 because of concern over rising Covid-19 cases.
“Magbabahay-bahay po tayo na maghahanap ng mga taong mayroon pong mga sintomas,” Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque said in a televised briefing Saturday.
Roque clarified that the house-to-house searches won’t violate human rights as “this is part and parcel of an ongoing quarantine.”
“Hindi po siya house to house for close contacts. It is house to house para doon sa mga may sintomas po. At iyong may mga sintomas, iti-test po natin; at kung positibo po sila, well, actually, iyong kapag sintomas lang, dapat ground na iyon for isolation,” he also said.
