Nakaka-alarma! DepEd urged to disclose data on teachers with COVID-19

By Billy Begas

ACT Teachers Rep. France Castro urged the Department of Education (DepEd) to make public the number of public school teachers and non-teaching personnel who were infected of COVID-19.

Castro said that in Quezon City, six teachers have succumbed to the COVID-19 this month alone.

Castro said that a number of teachers and non-teaching personnel were required to go to school outside of module distribution days.

She said DepEd should take responsibility especially for its workers who have been exposed in performance of their duties “as this is due to the department’s rashness and negligence.”
