Walang lockdown: Roque disagrees with ex-VP Binay: ‘Bukas po ang ekonomiya’

By Prince Golez

The bubble setup imposed on Metro Manila, Bulacan, Laguna, Cavite, and Rizal isn’t a “lockdown” since the economy remains open, Palace Spokesman Harry Roque said.

Roque made the clarification following the statement of former Vice President Jejomar Binay that the government refuses to call the additional restrictions in the capital region and the four neighboring provinces as it would be an admission of its failure and incompetence in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic

Last Sunday, the national government placed the above-mentioned areas under a two-week “bubble” movement restriction to stem the spread of Covid-19 cases.

Under the scheme, all non-essential travel into and from Metro Manila, Rizal, Bulacan, Cavite, and Laguna is prohibited until April 4.
