The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) continues to refuse to open one of the roads in the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) reservation in Muntinlupa City, Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said on Friday (April 23).
“The BuCor was adamant in its position to close the Insular Road,” said Guevarra about the meeting he held last April 16.
Despite this, Guevarra assured that the talks have not ended despite the stance of the BuCor.
“We are still exploring options and will conduct an ocular inspection at an opportune time,” he said.
Guevarra held a meeting last April 16 to discuss the closure of Insular Road in response to the concern of Muntinlupa City Rep. Ruffy Biazon over the road’s closure.
Photographs of the blocked road has gone viral online and already drew the ire of the public.
