Duterte will no longer attend ceremony for vaccine arrival: Palace

By Prince Golez

President Rodrigo Duterte will no longer witness the arrival of other coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccines in the Philippines, according to Malacañang.

Spokesman Harry Roque said Duterte’s attendance to the March 29 delivery of one million doses of Sinovac’s Covid-19 vaccine procured by the government might be his last.

When pressed to explain why Duterte has decided to skip succeeding turnover of other vaccine brands, the secretary told reporters: “Ang inaasahan naman niya ay sunud-sunod na iyong pagdating, so it will just be, kumbaga, matter of course na marami nang bakunang darating ‘no as supplies ease up worldwide ‘no.

It can be recalled that Duterte welcomed the arrival of 1 million CoronaVac vaccine doses last week, the shipment of more than 480,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine on March 4, and the delivery of 600,000 doses of Sinovac’s Covid-19 vaccine last February 28.
