1-PACMAN party-list Mikee Romero urged the government Friday (April 30) to allow the entry in the country of people who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Romero, the majority shareholder of AirAsia Philippines, said the entry of foreign visitors would help boost the tourism and retail sector.
“There are already 1 billion people out there who have been vaccinated twice. We should let them in as long as they present their valid vaccination cards upon boarding at point of origin,” he said.
“We cannot sit and just wait for the world to revolve. We already did the world’s longest lockdown. Government has to be proactive, we need to progress, move forward,” Romero added.
Some countries are gradually easing their COVID-19 restrictions after inoculating a large number of their population.
