MalacaƱang said it will leave to the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) to decide whether they will remove Lt. Gen. Antonio Parlade Jr. as its spokesperson.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque made the comment in response to the statement of Senator Panfilo Lacson that Parlade should be dismissed from his post over red-tagging issues.
“Hindi naman po nagma-micro manage ang ating Presidente,” Roque said in a virtual presser Tuesday.
“Bahala na ang NTF-ELCAC kung susundin nila o hindi ang rekomendasyon ni Senator Lacson,” he added.
National Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperson, who also sits as the vice chairperson of NTF-ELCAC, prohibited Parlade and Presidential Communications Operations Office Undersecretary Lorrain Badoy, spokesperson of the task force, from commenting on the issue of community pantries.
Parlade earlier likened Ana Patricia Non’s Maginhawa community pantry initiative to “Satan giving an apple to Eve.”
