President Rodrigo Duterte has accused the opposition of fault-finding while doing nothing to stop the Covid-19 pandemic.
In his pre-recorded speech Thursday, Duterte said his critics should help the country respond to the health crisis than raise “nonsense” and “trivial” issues.
“Itong oposisyon dapat tingnan ng taong-bayan ngayong Pilipinas, tingnan ninyo kung ano ang ginagawa. Sa halip na magsalita kung ano, kung paano pa dagdagan ‘yong pondo para sa ayuda o papaano dagdagan pa ‘yong tulong ng mga kama, baka sakali talagang it might go out of control spreading a wildfire, they don’t do that,” according to the Chief Executive.
“Maghanap ng issue ng dagat, ng ano, kaya kayong people of the Republic of the Philippines, pag-aralan ninyong mabuti. Ito ‘yong mga tao na walang ginagawa kung hindi magreklamo,” he added.
The Duterte administration has been criticized by the opposition and the public for its inadequate preparation and slow Covid-19 response.
