Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Menardo Guevarra said the rules concerning the arrest of persons caught without or improperly wearing face masks will hopefully be implemented this week.
“The DOJ is ready with its guidelines,” he said.
“We’ll just have to coordinate with the DILG (Department of Interior and Local Government) in the next couple of days,” he added.
The DOJ and DILG drafted the guidelines upon the order of President Rodrigo Duterte.
Duterte gave the directive after ordering police to arrest those who are not wearing or improperly wearing face masks.
