Reacting to the decision of former senator Antonio Trillanes IV to seek presidency in 2022, Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo said: “Libre naman ang bangungot.”
During his commentary show “Counterpoint,” Panelo pushed for Trillanes to run for president so the voters could slap him with the truth that he’s never going to win.
“Libre naman ang bangungot sa Pilipinas. Mangarap ka at mabangungot ka… May namamatay ho sa bangungot. Ang dami hong namamatay sa bangungot. Sana naman eh huwag kang mamatay,” according to the abogado.
“Gusto kong tumakbo ka para makita mo na ang sampal sa ‘yo ng mga botante. Matagal na nag-aabang yung pagsambal sa mukha mo sa pagkatalo mo,” he added.
Trillanes earlier declared his intent to run for the highest elective post next year following reports that Vice President Leni Robredo transferred her residence to prepare for the gubernatorial race in Camarines Sur.
But, lawyer Barry Gutierrez, spokesperson of Robredo, denied reports that the veep is making preparations to run for governor.
She is currently focused on helping Filipinos affected by the Covid-19 crisis, said Gutierrez.
