Should he decide to run for vice president in the 2022 elections, Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III wants Sen. Panfilo Lacson to be his presidential bet.
In an interview on ANC, Sotto said he will support Lacson if he decides to run for the country’s top post next year.
“As of now, first of all, I’m still considering it (running for VP). And if I do consider it, the No. 1 on my list would be Sen. Ping Lacson. I know what he can do for the country,” he said.
“If he runs for President, I will support him. If he does not run, pag-uusapan pa natin yan,” he added.
Sotto also said he is “talking” with Sen. Emmanuel Pacquiao, who is also reportedly keen on running for president.
Earlier, Lacson said he has given his word he would support Sotto if he runs in 2022.
