It was President Rodrigo Duterte who ordered the non-announcement of Covid-19 vaccine brands in vaccination centers, according to Malacañang.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque made the comment Thursday in response to a Department of Health policy not to announce the brand of Covid-19 doses available for roll out.
“Unang-una, si presidente po ang nag-utos niyan dahil nakita niya yung kawalan ng social distancing dun sa ilang lugar kung saan inannounce ang pagbabakuna ng Pfizer,” Roque explained during a virtual Palace briefing.
The secretary also assured the public that the vaccines are safe and effective as all vaccines undergo careful testing and review.
“Lahat naman po ng bakuna ay pantay-pantay. Dumaan po yan sa masusing pag-aaral. Lahat po yan ligtas at epektibo. Kaya nga po ang pinakamabuting bakuna ay yung ilalagay sa inyong mga braso,” he added.
