To stop corruption, Duterte suggests: ‘Sarahan mo ang gobyerno’

By Prince Golez

Can corruption ever be eliminated?

Shut down the government, President Rodrigo Duterte said in his “Talk to the People” address Thursday.

Duterte said corruption will continue as long as “there is a running bureaucracy and there is money involved and there are a lot of tables where the papers would go through.”

He, however, assured everyone that his administration is working to cleanse government of corruption.

“We are not proclaiming that we have gotten rid of corruption. There is still corruption in this government and any other government that will come after me; and in the past, mayroon talaga ‘yan,” according to him.

“Ayaw ninyo wala, eh di sarahan mo ang gobyerno. But then again, you choose which way to go. The most that we can do is to fight it,” said Duterte.
