Todo ligaw! House leaders lavish praises on Sara Duterte for birthday

Speaker Lord Allan Jay Velasco and House Majority Leader Ferdinand Martin Romualdez on Monday greeted presidential daughter and Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte on her 43rd birthday.

Velasco took to Facebook his birthday greetings to Duterte as soon as the clock struck 12:01 a.m. on Monday.

He even likened Duterte to an eagle that symbolizes courage and compassion.

“Ngayon ay kaarawan ng isang kahanga-hangang Pilipino, na kumakatawan ng mga katangian ng Agila. Hatid ko sa kanya ang video na ito, na isang pagsisikap na nagmula sa puso ng kanyang mga tagahanga at taga-suporta. Sila ay nagkaisa at nagsama dahil sa inspirasyon at paniniwala,” Velasco said.

Meanwhile, Romualdez flew to Davao City to personally greet Duterte and give her a bouquet of flowers.

“I join the Filipino nation in praying that our Lord God will continue to bless you Mayor Inday Sara with long life and excellent health,” Romualdez said. “I have been immensely gratified and inspired by your unwavering pursuit of goodness in the entire country. Your very determined leadership to serve the people has profoundly influenced us to further extend malasakit to our constituents.”

Romualdez also wished the continued success of Duterte in the fulfillment of her aspirations for the Filipino people.

“Under your stewardship and guidance, you have shown that you are a steady source of inspiration for the Filipinos,” Romualdez said. “I assure you Mayor Inday Sara that we are behind you in all your advocacies and thrusts for good governance.”

Tingog party-list Rep. Yedda Marie K. Romualdez, wife of Romualdez also greeted the mayor a happy birthday.

“May you be blessed more as you have blessed others! Happy birthday to a remarkable public official!” she said.
