Senator Sherwin Gatchalian is disappointed that the use of the common anti-parasitic medication has been marred with politics.
Instead of politicking, Gatchalian suggested trusting the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to rule on the use of Ivermectin in the country. Some politikos have promoted the use of Ivermectin and given away free doses despite health authorities’ warning against its use due to lack of study as a coronavirus treatment.
“Ivermectin has been mixed with a toxic ingredient – politics,” Gatchalian tweeted May 5, 2021.
The senator said it was better to trust doctors on matters related to health.
“We should trust FDA to do its job. We should listen to doctors and experts to avoid life threatening side effects,” he said.
