‘Maraming salamat, my President’: Trillanes says PNoy served the country well

Final farewell.

Former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV paid tribute to the late President Benigno Aquino III by honoring his legacy to the nation.

Aquino, the country’s president from 2010 to 2016, was laid to rest Saturday next to his parents Ninoy and Cory Aquino at the Manila Memorial Park in Parañaque on June 26, 2021. The former leader died on June 24. He was 61.

Trillanes lauded Aquino’s contribution to the country’s democracy as well as his exemplary service to the nation. He called Aquino “my president.”

“You can rest in peace now PNoy. You served our country well,” he tweeted on June 24.

Sharing a photo with PNoy, the former senator also thanked the former leader for his service.

“This is the man who gave us our freedom. Maraming salamat, my President. Until we meet again…” he said.
