League of Municipalities of the Philippines president Luis “Chavit” Singson has joined the Nationalist People’s Coalition, according to Senate President Tito Sotto.
Sotto, in a Viber thread, showed reporters pictures of Singson, mayor of Narvacan town in Ilocos Sur, taking an oath and being sworn in as NPC member at the NPC Clubhouse in Quezon City.
“Very strong political asset! He not only governs Ilocos Sur, he is presently the President of the Municipal Mayor’s League of the PH,” the Senate leader said.
Singson told reporters he joined NPC because he didn’t have a national party. He said he intends to run for local office in 2022, either for mayor or governor.
He said he sees NPC as the “most stable” party, to which Sotto commented: “Amen!!!”
