Duterte OKs cash aid for residents in ECQ areas

President Rodrigo Duterte has approved the grant of financial aid to low-income households affected by the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ), his spokesman announced Thursday.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said the Department of Social Welfare and Development will provide assistance worth P1,000 per individual or P4,000 per family residing in areas under ECQ.

On Wednesday, Duterte extended the ECQ in Iloilo province, Iloilo City, Cagayan de Oro City at Gingoog City until August 7.

“Inaprubahan ng presidente ang pagbigay ng P1,000 tulong sa mga nangangailangang kababayan natin sa mga areas na nasa ilalim ng ECQ at ito po ay maximum na apat po kada pamilya,” Roque said in a virtual presser.

“Ang pondo ay dina-downlaod na po sa mga lokal na pamahalaan ng Iloilo province, Iloilo City, Cagayan de Oro City at Gingoog City,” he also said.
