President Rodrigo Duterte has warned those selling Covid-19 vaccines that they would not go unpunished.
In his weekly televised address Tuesday, Duterte ordered relevant government agencies to launch a “thorough” investigation into the matter and charge those involved in the vaccine for sale scheme.
“This is very alarming. We condemn these acts, and we will not allow perpetrators to go unpunished… Do not press your luck too far. You might regret it. Warning ko lang sa inyo ‘yan,” the country’s chief executive said.
“I order every relevant authority to investigate this matter thoroughly and press charges accordingly,” he added.
Duterte reminded the public that all Covid-19 vaccines available in the country aren’t for sale.
“They are given to our poor people for free. Not only to the poor but to the rich so they opt to have vaccinations in the vaccination centers,” according to him.
The National Bureau of Investigation had announced the arrest of three individuals – Harjit Kour Gonzales Singh, Alexis Franco de Guzman, and Calvin Maximillian Yeung Roca – in Quezon City for allegedly selling 300 doses of Chinese Sinovac vaccine.
