Bayan Spokesman Teddy Casino has slammed the administration once again this time in its COVID-19 response, in relation to the upcoming State of the Nation Address (SONA) which he described would outline the administration’s achievements in the past year.
“Sa usapin ng pandemya walang masasabing significant accomplishments, in fact nahuhuli talaga tayo kumpara sa mga karatig-bansa dito sa ASEAN,” he said in an interview on Abante’s Balitaan at Kumustahan on Friday.
He stated that in tackling the pandemic, which he called the country’s biggest concern at present, the administration has failed since day one.
Casino cited the administration’s failure in testing and contact tracing, lack of upgraded health facilities, and delay in acquiring vaccines among other reasons, as proof of the administration’s failings.
He also mentioned that the SONA would just always put its best foot forward.
“So lahat ng pinakamagandang nangyari sa administration, sasabihin ng Pangulo yan,” he said.
“Ang problema lang this year, ano ang magandang sasabihin ng pangulo?” he added.
Casino also expressed his dismay at the lack of invitation for Vice President Leni Robredo to attend the SONA, noting this as a sign of the President’s politicking as elections near, especially as the Vice President has always attended previously.
“Sa klase ng nakita natin kung gaano mag-hold ng grudge si Pangulong Duterte, basta’t may pumuna sa kanya, may bumatikos sa kanya, talagang pinepersonal niya at trinatrato niyang kaaway,” Casino said.
