Get a COVID jab, Duterte urges Pinoys anew

President Rodrigo Duterte has renewed his call on the public to get a Covid-19 vaccine to reduce the transmission of the virus.

Duterte made the appeal Thursday evening during the arrival ceremony for 1 million doses of AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine from Japan.

“I urge everyone to get vaccinated and help prevent the further spread of the virus. We should all continue to follow safety and health protocols, even when fully vaccinated,” the President said.

He also assured Filipinos that Covid-19 vaccines that are available in the country are “safe and effective.”

“To my fellow Filipinos, please know that we remain committed to acquiring a sufficient supply of safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines for all of our countrymen,” said Duterte.

“Together, let us beat the pandemic and ensure our way towards a better and brighter tomorrow,” he added.
