The national government has prohibited children aged 5 and up to go outdoors in areas under general community quarantine (GCQ) “with heightened restrictions,” Malacañang said Friday.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque announced that the National Capital Region and the provinces of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Davao de Oro and Davao del Norte have been placed under GCQ with heightened restrictions from July 23 to 31.
“As these areas will be placed under GCQ with heightened restrictions, children five years old and above will not be allowed to go to outdoor areas, as provided for under IATF Resolution No. 125 (s.2021),” said Roque.
The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases earlier allowed kids as young as 5 to go to parks, playgrounds, outdoor tourist sites, outdoor non-contact sports courts, and all fresco dining with their parents or guardians.
Meanwhile, the government’s Covid-19 task force has allowed foreign spouses, parent/s, and/or children of Filipino citizens with valid 9(a) visas to enter the Philippines without the need of an entry exemption document beginning August 1.
