By Prince Golez

The Philippine government was “not too late” in imposing a travel ban on travelers coming from Indonesia, Malacañang said Thursday.

“Hindi naman po too late ‘yan,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a virtual presser.

“Wala po tayong turismo at wala rin po tayong business visas except for the long-term investor’s visas na in-issue natin,” he added.

On Wednesday, Roque announced that the Philippines will all travelers from Indonesia from July 16 to July 31 to prevent the spread of the more transmissible Delta

variant.

Transit passengers arriving from Indonesia and those who have been to the same within 14 days immediately preceding their arrival to the Philippines, who arrive before 12:01 a.m. of July 16, may still be allowed to enter the country, according to him.

They must, however, quarantine in a facility for 14 days and undergo RT-PCR test, he added.
