Support for Senator Panfilo Lacson’s presidential bid continues to grow, as several organizations in the vote-rich province of Rizal pledged support for his candidacy.
Different sectoral leaders led by Antipolo Councilor Philip Conrad Acop launched Sunday (July 18) the Peoples’ Initiative for the New Generation (PING2022), a broad coalition of different people’s organizations against corruption and for good governance.
“We believe that Senator Lacson is the best person to lead the country in 2022. He has the courage to do what is necessary, the brains to govern with competency and the heart to lead our people with deep empathy, Acop said.
The Rizal politiko also lauded Lacson’s sterling record in the fight against corruption and patriotism in defending the West Philippine Sea.
Acop cited Lacson’s initiative in investigating the Jose Pidal scandal, the jueteng and textbook scam, as well as Cebu’s overpriced decorative lamp posts as proof of the senator’s unrelenting anti-corruption crusade.
“Senator Lacson is the only lawmaker who refused to accept any form of pork barrel funds and has devoted his time and energy in protecting the nation’s coffers from pork barrel plunderers. He is a leading and brave voice in the defense of the West Philippine Sea,” he said.
To symbolize the group’s support for Lacson, an oversized manifesto urging him to run for president in 2022 was signed by the different sectoral leaders.
