Roque to decide on Senate bid once PH reaches herd immunity

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque welcomed on Wednesday his inclusion in the initial list of the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan’s (PDP-Laban) senatorial candidates for the 2022 national elections.

Earlier, Eastern Samar Governor Ben Evardone, PDP-Laban vice president for Visayas, announced that President Rodrigo Duterte is finalizing the senatorial lineup of the ruling party.

“Nagpapasalamat din po ako sa PDP-Laban, kay governor Evardone sa kumpiyansa na naibigay nila sa akin,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said during a televised briefing Wednesday.

But right now, Roque said he’s focused on his role as spokesperson to ensure people receive “factual accurate” information about the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Nakatutok po tayo sa ating katungkulan. Tayo po ay bumalik bilang Spokesperson sa panahon ng pandemya dahil naniniwala tayo na kinakailangan ng factual at accurate ang mga information ng taumbayan sa panahon ng pandemya,” according to him.

The secretary said he would make a final decision once the country achieves population protection or herd immunity against Covid-19.

“Siguro kapag nakamit na natin iyong tinatawag na population protection, iyon po iyong panahon para magdesisyon kung ano po ang magiging plano natin sa pulitika,” he said.
