Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo urged the public to take the highly transmissible COVID-19 Delta variant seriously.
The Delta variant, first identified in India, is no joke, Panelo said in his commentary show “Counterpoint.”
“Napakahalaga na tayo po ay tignan nating seryoso po itong Delta variant. Hindi ito biro-biro. Kailangan pong pahintuin natin ito habang hindi pa ito kumakalat,” according to him.
Panelo also asked everyone to strictly comply with quarantine protocols to keep them protected against the dreaded variant.
“Kailangan tayo po’y maging very, very serious on this matter. We don’t have to be repeatedly reminded of how to survive or how to live. Kailangan po alam na natin ang dapat gawin,” he added.
The country’s total number of Delta cases is 216.
