The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has intercepted a package from Germany containing a shipment of Ecstasy party drugs worth around P3 million.
NBI Director Eric Distor said the cargo was seized after it arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. The contents of the shipment were declared as shoes and bed sheets. The party drugs were hidden between the items.
Initial investigation by the NBI showed the parcel was sent by one Fostina Obobo of Neuss, Germany. It was addressed to a Joyce Ann San Antono of Baguio City.
Operatives from NBI’s task group at NAIA and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency followed the cargo to Baguio City to identify and arrest the package’s recipient.
Arrested was one Elisa Aguirre Millare, who was caught in the act of receiving the shipment. She and San Antonio will both face criminal charges.
