Imee Marcos gunning for the vice presidency: Duterte

President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday revealed that Senator Imee Marcos is planning to run for the vice presidency next year.

Marcos, according to Duterte, wanted to join the vice presidential race as running mate to Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio.

“Ngayon si imee… Medyo kasi si Imee, ganito ang laro niyan eh. Pinupuntahan niya si Mayor Duterte sa Davao hoping na magtakbo yun, siya ang maging bise,” the country’s chief executive said.

He, however, said his daughter, who topped several Pulse Asia’s presidential surveys, will not run for the country’s highest elective post in the 2022 national elections.

“Eh hindi naman tatakbo, sabi niya. Sabi ni Mayor Sara Duterte hindi siya magtakbo. Eh sabi ko, magtakbo ako ng vice president,” added Duterte.
