LOOK: Controversy-hit Pharmally donates supplies to Joy Belmonte, Francis Zamora

Months before the little known Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corporation made it to the news because of a Senate probe, it was donating COVID-19-related supplies to a number of local politikos.

Two of the local chief executives who received donations from Pharmally were Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte and San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora.

In a post uploaded by the Quezon City Government on Nov. 19, 2020, Belmonte thanked Pharmally for donating 10,000 pieces each of surgical face masks and N95 masks, as well as 200 boxes of the Chinese herbal medicine Lianhua Qingwen.

“Sa tulong ng opisina ni Councilor Franz Pumaren, ang mga donasyon na face mask at Herbal medicine ay makakatulong sa patuloy na programa ng Quezon City laban sa #COVID19PH pandemic,” Belmonte said.

Zamora received 15,000 pieces of face masks, 10,000 pieces of N95 masks and 400 boxes of Lianhua Qingwen on November 3, 2020, according to a post on his Facebook page.

Mohit Dargani, Pharmally’s treasurer, was pictured turning over the donations to Zamora.

Pharmally has been in the news after it was revealed during a recent Senate blue ribbon committee investigation that it bagged close to P8.7 billion worth of contracts from the Department of Budget and Management’s Procurement Service since last year for COVID-19 related supplies.

The company was formed only in September 2019 with a P625,000 paid-up capital.
