Moving on: Pacquiao to count his blessings than dwell on defeat

Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao is moving forward after his defeat in his boxing match against a Cuban fighter.

Pacquiao, in his latest tweet, said he would rather count his blessings than dwell on his recent defeat in the boxing ring.

Yordenis Ugas of Cuba pulled off an upset victory against Pacquiao via unanimous decision during their match in Las Vegas last weekend. Pacquiao has apologized to his fans for his loss but insisted he did his best during the bout.

Accepting his defeat, the senator attributed his boxing journey and his strength to the grace of God.

“I have come to this point in my career by the grace of God. It is He who gave me the strength to fight. I can look back and honestly say that I gave my best,” he said.

He remains grateful for the love and support of his family and fans.

“My family and you, the fans, have been with me all the way. I will not focus on the defeat, but instead count my blessings!” he said.

Pacquiao, rumored to be eyeing the presidency in next year’s elections, is expected to make a decision on his political plans next month. The filing of certificates of candidacies for the 2022 national and local elections is scheduled in the first week of October.
