Palace reiterates: Covid-19 vaccinations in NCR to proceed during ECQ

The government will continue to ramp up vaccinations against Covid-19 despite the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in the National Capital Region (NCR) starting August 6, Malacañang said Thursday.

“Hindi nangangahulugan na hihinto ang bakunahan. Sasamantalahin natin ang ECQ para lalo pa natin mapabilis ang pagbabakuna,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said during a ceremonial vaccination rollout in Mandaluyong City.

Roque also stressed the need to get vaccinated as this will ensure people are protected against the infection.

“Importante po na patuloy ang ating pagbabakuna dahil ito po ang magsisiguro na tayo pong lahat ay makakapagbalik sa ating trabaho, makakabalik sa ating pamilya, makakabalik sa dating mga buhay,” he said.

“Layunin po natin na makapaghanapbuhay ang ating mga manggagawa. Ito rin ang magsisiguro na kahit nandiyan ang coronavirus ay hindi masisira o matitigil ang mga serbisyo ng pamahalaaan,” he added.

Metro Manila earlier received additional four million Covid-19 vaccine doses to administer during the NCR lockdown until August 20.
