Former Vice President Jojo Binay is not about to retire from public service anytime soon.
After decades of public service, Binay will reportedly run for senator in next year’s elections. He will likely be included in the senatorial slate being readied by the presidential tandem of Senator Panfilo Lacson and Senate President Tito Sotto.
Ahead of the 2022 polls, a biography of Binay has been released featuring his life and legacy. The book, authored by Joey Salgado and Krip Yuson, is titled “Dignity and Compassion: The Life Story of Jejomar C. Binay.”
A 30-second advertisement has also been launched to promote Binay’s latest book. The video has been posted on YouTube and aired on tv and radio spots.
The latest advertisement highlights the former vice president’s track record and capacity to solve the country’s problems, promoting the tag line “Binay there, done that.”
Binay served as the country’s vice president from 2010 to 2016. Before that, the human rights lawyer worked as mayor of Makati City for many years.
“Maraming isyu ang bayan. Ang solusyon.. basa! Ang solusyon.. Nasa libro na,” the book advertisement says.
“Marami sa problema ng bayan, meron nang solusyon. Siyang lang, Jojo Binay. Siya lang. Binay there, done that.”
The ad also suggests that Binay can do more for the nation, hinting about his potential run in the 2022 elections.
“Ang may nagawa na at may magagawa pa. Nasa libro ni Binay. Nasa puso ni Binay,” the video says.
Binay ran for president in 2016 but lost to then Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte. The former vice president has become a vocal critic of the Duterte administration when it comes to alleged poor pandemic response and other reported irregularities in government.
