Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque wished that people who spread “fake news” that unvaccinated individuals won’t get cash aid to get Covid-19.
In a televised briefing Thursday, Roque blamed some people of spreading misinformation on restrictions for people who haven’t yet taken a vaccine.
“May mga nagpapakalat talaga ng fake news. Meron talagang walang matinong ginagawa sa buhay nila. Ewan ko ba kung hindi pa sila ma-COVID,” the secretary said, who tested positive for Covid-19 twice this year.
“‘Wag po kayo maniwala sa fake news. Kaya nga po patuloy ang serbisyo ng lahat ng government communication entities dahil importante sa panahon ng pandemiya, malalaman niyo ang katotohanan.
“Walang katotohanan ang sinasabi na kapag walang bakuna hindi makakakuha ng ayuda at hindi makakalabas ng bahay,” he added.
It can be remembered that Duterte ordered the police and barangay officials to ensure unvaccinated persons remain at home.
“Itong ayaw magbakuna, sinasabi ko sa inyo, ‘wag kayong lumabas ng bahay kasi ‘pag lumabas kayo, sabihin ko sa mga pulis na ibalik kayo sa bahay niyo because you are a walking spreader,” the President said in his July 29 Talk to the People speech.
