Not everyone can simply hold a meeting with President Duterte.
The country’s leader is apparently so busy with work that even the First Family must make an appointment just to see him.
Booking such appointment to meet the President has been a normal practice within the family, according to his daughter Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.
“The matter of making an appointment to see PRRD may be odd to many but it is a normal thing in our family since the late 1990s,” she wrote in a Facebook post.
Mayor Sara said she was not furious about the need to see the President. “What matters is I get to see the President,” she said.
The mayor made the comment after dispelling talk of a supposed conflict with President’s former aide and now Senator Bong Go over his close ties with her father. She said she bears no grudge against Go on his relationship with the President. “I am not the keeper of the President, he is allowed to have friends as I am,” he said.

The alleged conflict between Mayor Sara and the President’s aide was rumored to be a proxy fight between the first and second families of Duterte on retaining power beyond 2022.
Mayor Sara, daughter of Duterte and former wife Elizabeth Zimmerman, is the frontrunner in the presidential surveys but has yet to announce her political plans for 2022.
Go, on the other hand, has been endorsed by Duterte’s political party as next presidential bet but the senator is supposedly not interested in running. Go served as Duterte’s executive and personal assistant since 1998.
Zimmerman sought to end the marriage with Duterte in 1998 after reportedly catching him cheating. The marriage was annulled in 2000. The two remained friends even though their 27-year marriage ended. Apart from Mayor Sara, they have two other kids namely Davao Rep. Paolo Duterte and Davao City Vice Mayor Baste Duterte.
Duterte currently lives with his common-law wife Honeylet Avaceña and their daughter Veronica.
