It’s Quiboloy vs Pacquiao this time.
Pastor Apollo Quiboloy has challenged Senator Manny Pacquiao to a debate over the controversial P3.5 billion infrastructure project in the latter’s home province of Sarangani.
Quiboloy issued the challenge after expressing dismay with the boxer’s attempt to divert the issue by hurling personal attacks against him.
Pacquiao recently threatened to file a case against Quiboloy for supposedly spreading fabricated allegations against him. The pastor earlier asked Pacquiao to explain the alleged P3.5 billion sports complex built in Sarangani. Pacquiao previously served as congressman of Sarangani before becoming a senator.
“ON THE 3.5 BILLION SARANGGANI SPORTS COMPLEX. I challenge you to a very honorable debate about this issue. Hinahamon kita Sen. Manny Pacquiao sa isang marangal na debate,” the religious leader said in a video posted on Facebook on September 2, 2021.
“Pili ka kung saan — dito sa estasyon ng SMNI o… ‘yung media outlet na gusto mong i-publish natin ito sa TV,” he said.
Quiboloy said Pacquiao should simply answer the questions surrounding the project instead of resorting to attacking him and his service.
“Hindi ako nag-aakusa sa’yo, nagtatanong ako sa’yo. Sinabi ko, ‘Sagutin mo to.’ Anong sagot mo? Puro personal attack pati ‘yung pagiging pastor ko sabi mo, hindi totoo. Judgmental ka pa masyado. Sagutin mo lang ang isyu,” he said.
Pacquiao earlier explained that the training center in Sarangani was built with a price tag ranging between P350 to P400 million, not P3.5 billion.
