Doc Willie Ong joins Aksyon Demokratiko party

From Lakas-CMD party to Aksyon Demokratiko party.

Doctor Willie Ong has left his old party to join the group lead by Manila Mayor Isko Moreno. The popular doctor will be Manila mayor’s running mate in the 2022 presidential elections.

Ong took his oath as new member of Aksyon Demokratiko during a ceremony over the weekend. Photos of the event have been posted by the Manila mayor on his Facebook page.

“Pormal nang nanumpa bilang bagong kasapi ng Aksyon Demokratiko si Doc Willie Ong. Ito ay pinangunahan ni Aksyon President Isko Moreno Domagoso.Dumalo din sa panunumpa sina Aksyon Chairman Ernest Ramel at Dr. Liza Ong. #BilisKilos,” the mayor wrote on Facebook.

In the 2019 elections, Ong ran for senator under the Lakas-CMD party. He ranked 18th in the senatorial elections, receiving over 7.4 million votes.
