Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez is proposing to the government’s Covid-19 task force to allow reopening of gyms at 10 percent capacity in areas under the alert level systems.
“‘Yung susunod po nating ipinapa-allow, dahil sa prinsipyo ng exercise, ay ‘yung gym. Kasi talagang pinag-iisapan din ‘ngayon ‘yan. ‘Yung pag-e-exercise kasi nakakataas ng immunity,” Lopez said in an interview over Dobol B TV Sunday.
“Allow natin pero mas marami kang requirements. Kunwari kailangan mo pa ng air purifier or yung at any given point in time kung ang capacity nung gym ay 100 dati ngayon 10 lang,” Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) chief added.
Metro Manila is currently under Alert Level 4, the highest alert level for Covid-19, until September 30.
Under this alert level system, only food establishments and select personal care services are allowed to operate at reduced functional capacity.
