President Rodrigo Duterte has approved the pilot implementation of limited face-to-face classes, MalacaƱang announced Monday.
In his virtual presser, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said a dry run of in-person classes will be implemented in “low risk” areas for Covid-19.
“Ito ay gagawin sa mga lugar na, unang-una, minimal risk na ide-determine ng Department of Health sang ayon sa safety assessment na ibibigay ng Department of Education,” according to Roque.
“Kinakailanagan merong suporta ng mga local government units sa pamamagitan ng resolusyon o letter of support at kinakailangan may written support and consent ng mga magulang ng ating mga kabataan,” he added.
For her part, Education Secretary Leonor Briones said the two-month pilot testing of limited face-to-face classes will cover students in kindergarten (12 learners), grades 1 to 3 (16 learners), and tech-voc students in five senior high schools (20 learners).
These classes will last up to a maximum of four hours and will be held on alternating weeks, she added.
