Face-off kay JV uli: ‘Anak ng masa’ Jinggoy vows pro-poor service in Senate bid

The political rivalry between the two Estrada brothers continues.

Former Senator Jinggoy Estrada announced his plan to run for senator in the 2022 elections, vowing to continue programs to lift Filipinos out of poverty.

Estrada’s senatorial candidacy was announced a few days after his half-brother former Senator JV Estrada bared his Senate bid in the upcoming elections. The two siblings lost in the 2019 senatorial elections.

“Mga kababayan, mga kasama, mga ka-masa, ako po si Jinggoy, buong puso kong inihahayag ang aking intensyong makibahagi sa malinis na halalan upang maging senador muli,” Estrada said during his Facebook live on Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2021.

Estrada will try to make a Senate comeback under the Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino (PMP) party, founded by his father former President Joseph Estrada.

Former Senator JV posted a tweet after his brother announced his renewed Senate run.
