The coronavirus is the real enemy.
Senator Sherwin Gatchalian has encouraged the public to get vaccinated as soon as possible to strengthen their protection against the COVID-19. The senator issued the message after getting inoculated against the disease on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021.
“Vaccinated! The virus is the enemy, not the vaccine. I encourage everyone to register and get vaccinated against COVID-19,” he wrote on Instagram.
Gatchalian shared his photo after getting vaccinated in his hometown of Valenzuela City. He flashed the “V” sign to show his vaccination in his latest snapshot.
The senator made the appeal for vaccination after the government’s inoculation campaign remained sluggish due to limited supplies. More than 17 million Filipinos have so far been fully vaccinated since the campaign began last March. From this number, over 6 million Metro Manila residents completed their vaccination.
The government’s target is to inoculate 70 million adult Filipinos before the end of the year to reach herd immunity.
