‘My channel, my right’: Chiz defends Toni Gonzaga over Marcos interview, says she’s free to interview anyone

Haters back off.

Former Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero came to defense of actress Toni Gonzaga from bashers criticizing her interview with former Senator Bongbong Marcos, saying this is part of her freedom.

Escudero said Gonzaga has the right to interview people in her media platform, particularly YouTube channel. Viewers also have the right to like or hate the interview, the Sorsogon governor added.

“Toni Gonzaga has the freedom & right to interview whomsoever she may want to in her platforms,” he tweeted.

“Whether or not you agree with the interviewee or her is totally up to you because you too have the freedom & right to watch or not to watch or like/dislike,” he said.

Escudero ended his message with the hashtag #mychannelmyright.

Foul or fair? Toni Gonzaga trends on Twitter for Bongbong Marcos interview

The Kapamilya television host recently interviewed Marcos at his house for her YouTube program Toni Talks, discussing his life and lessons from his father the late President Ferdinand Marcos.

The episode titled “The Greatest Lesson Bongbong Marcos Learned From His Father” also tackled the former senator’s viewpoint on the EDSA uprising and final moments of his dad. The interview has so far drawn more than 3.5 million.

What’s one thing Bongbong Marcos is tired of hearing?

Some rights defenders slammed Toni over the Marcos interview, saying it only provided a venue for the Marcos family to supposed whitewash the rights violations during the martial law regime. Toni however remained unfazed by the so-called cancel culture she endured over the interview with the son of the late dictator.
