Gusto ng tao kahit ayaw tumakbo! Sara Duterte still top choice for president but Bongbong closing in

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte remains the top choice for president despite her declaration that she will not run for president, according to Pulse Asia’s latest voter preference survey.

Survey results showed Duterte with a 20 percent voter preference rating. In second place is former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. with 15 percent, followed by Manila Mayor Isko Moreno with 13 percent and Senator Manny Pacquiao with 12 percent.

While Duterte remains the leading presidential candidate, her rating dropped by eight points from the 28 percent registered in Pulse Asia’s June survey. Preference for Marcos, meanwhile, increased by two points from the previous poll.

Duterte declared she will not run for president on September 9 after her father, President Rodrigo Duterte, confirmed his vice presidential bid.

Pulse Asia’s survey was conducted from September 9 to 11 nationwide using face to face interviews with 2,400 respondents. It had a margin of error of plus/minus two percent.

Senator Grace Poe ranked fifth among potential presidential candidates with a nine percent voter preference, followed by Vice President Leni Robredo with eight points, Senator Panfilo Lacson with six points and Taguig Rep. Aalan Peter Cayetano with four points.

In ninth place is Senator Bong Go with a three percent voter preference rating. Former senator Antonio Trillanes, who said he will run for president if Robredo doesn’t, got one percent.

Seven percent of the respondents said they were undecided on whom to vote for president.
