Keeps growing stronger: Lakas-CMD welcomes 55 new politikos

House Majority Leader and Leyte Rep. Ferdinand Martin Romualdez on Sunday revealed that 55 politicians have join Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD).

La Union Rep. Sandra Eriguel, chairperson of the House Committee on Inter-parliamentary Relations and Diplomacy, and Nueva Vizcaya Rep. Luisa Lloren Cuaresma have joined the Lakas-CMD increasing to 28 the incumbent Representatives of the party.

Eriguel, a medical doctor, took over the post of Dr. Willie Ong as Lakas-CMD Vice

President for Health Services while Cuaresma was named Vice President for Local Government Concerns.

Eriguel was a former member of Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng

Bayan while Cuaresma came from National Unity Party.

Businesswoman Katrina Gloria Ponce Enrile, daughter of former Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile will seek a congressional seat in Cagayan under Lakas-CMD.

Quezon City 1st District Councilor Nikki Crisologo and Quezon City 3rd District Councilor John Defensor have also joined Lakas-CMD along with Christian Ryan Bustamante who will run for mayor in Oas, Albay and Franz William Ernest Belgica who will run for councilor in San Juan City.

“In line with our commitment to serve the people, we continue to open our doors to leaders inside and out the House of Representatives,” said Romualdez, president of the party.

Romualdez said politicians from Ilocos Norte, Bicol Region, and Mindanao who will run in the upcoming elections also took their oath as Lakas-CMD members.

Those who joined Lakas-CMD from Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte were Rafael Ralph Benemerito II (incumbent mayor), Melvyn Calvan II, Nestor Asuncion, Rex Constantine Benemerito Jr, Mercedes Carizal, Efren Cimatu Jr, Nathaniel Edu, Imelda Llanes (Former Mayor), Reyland Tabios, and Melvin Viernes.

From Bulan, Sorsogon were Josias Geraldino Olaf Gotladera, Nieva Grafil,

Edgar Egay Calupit, and Neil Monforte.

Gil Melitante, and Ringo Gruta from Juban, Sorsogon also forged an alliance with Lakas.

Those who took their oath from Gubat, Sorsogon were Sharon Rose Glipo Escoto, Sixto Funelas Estareja, Ana Embile Encinares, Renato Espadilla Escandor, Leo Pura Escaros, Ramilo Sarmiento Fajardo, Romeo Escarcha Forcadilla, Danilo Jao Pura, Reymundo Quiñones, Alvin Espadilla Rosales, and Aiza Embile Encinares.

Carlito Fortuno, Rico Entac, Lito Diaz, and Rey Mendoza from Barcelona, Sorsogon also took their oath.

Joining Lakas-CMD from Bulusan, Sorsogon were Reuel Fortades, Billy Guevarra Fortes, Bernardo Freo, Vicente Yap, Grace Halum, Celestino Frades, Dr. Lorenzo

De Castro, and Reynaldo Fulleros.

Others who joined Lakas-CMD were Brette Bautista of Malita, Davao Occidental; Adelan de Arce of Saranggani; Valenzuela City Councilor Ricardo Ricarr Enriquez; Ma. Antonietta Villaroza and Jover Tria Viray of Occidental Mindoro; Emilito Salinas Lontoc of Noveleta, Cavite, and Perla Tumaliuan of Cagayan.

Jolo Romualdez of Opol, Misamis Oriental and his team also took their oath as members of Lakas-CMD.

Recently, Cavite Vice Governor Ramon “Jolo” Revilla III, actor Nash Aguas and retired Gen. Lope Dagoy have also joined Lakas-CMD.
