Metro Manila back to GCQ from Sept. 8 to 30 despite rising Covid cases

Metro Manila will be under general community quarantine (GCQ) from September 8 to September 30, MalacaƱang announced Monday.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque also confirmed that granular lockdowns will be implemented in the capital region.

Further details will be announced either today or tomorrow, Tuesday, said Roque.

“Magkakaroon po ng pilot dito po sa Metro Manila. Ito po ang tinatawag nating mga localized lockdowns. Maglalabas po ang inyong IATF ng guidelines for pilot areas. Kung hindi po mamaya ay bukas sa ating briefing,” according to him.

Here are the other areas to be placed under GCQ until September 30:

-Baguio City

-Kalinga

-Abra

-Benguet

-Dagupan City

-Santiago City

-Quirino

-Isabela

-Nueva Vizcaya

-Tarlac

-Occidental Mindoro

-Puerto Princesa

-Aklan

-Guimaras

-Negros Occidental

-Cebu City

-Mandaue City

-Zamboanga Sibugay

-Zamboanga City

-Zamboanga Del Norte

-Misamis Occidental

-Iligan City

-Davao Oriental

-Davao Del Sur

-General Santos City

-Sultan Kudarat

-Sarangani

-North Cotabato

-South Cotabato

-Agusan Del Norte

-Agusan Del Sir

-Dinagat Islands

-Surigao Del Norte

-Surigao Del Sur

-Cotabato City

-Lanao Del Sur

Areas that will be under GCQ with “heightened restrictions” for the same period include Ilocos Sir, Ilocos Norte, Cagayan, Pangasinan, Quezon, Batangas, Naga City, Antique, Bacolod City, Capiz, Cebu Province, Lapu-Lapu City, Negros Oriental, Zamboanga Del Sur, Misamis Oriental, Davao City, Davao Del Norte, Davao De Oro, Davao Occidental, and Butuan City.

On one hand, Apayao, Bataan, Bulacan, Cavite, Lucena City, Rizal, Laguna, Iloilo Province, Iloilo City, and Cagayan De Oro City will pe placed under modified enhanced community quarantine until the end of the month.

The rest of the country will remain under modified GCQ until September 30.
